Hala Kaiss, MC
Hala believes that as humans, we all have the capacity to move towards healing. It is through being in connection with others, that one may find the courage to do so. Counselling offers a safe place for this experience as it can be challenging to both let go of, and accept, certain parts of ourselves and our story.
Hala is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta and has been providing counselling services since 2014. Hala understands the impact that trauma and psychological stress can have on both the mind and body. She has training in EMDR and somatic psychotherapy and uses a mind-body approach in her work with clients in order to address all parts of self. Hala practices from a client-centered perspective and believes that each person is the expert in their own life. She offers a non-judgemental and compassionate lens and will work in a collaborative manner to address your concerns, achieve your goals, and help you discover your full potential!
She has experience supporting individuals through a variety issues including anxiety, depression, boundaries, self-esteem, childhood abuse, disordered eating patterns and body-image, and self-awareness/identity. She specializes in working with adults who have experienced trauma in their life, and has extensive experience working with survivors of sexual abuse.
When she is not with clients, you are likely to find Hala teaching group fitness classes, prepping for her next Figure competition, or out with her Husband, walking their beloved American Bulldog, Rhyno!
Word to live by: “Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.” – Brene Brown
